July 2011

July was full of a lot of yard work. Since we decided to buy a brand new house, we had to start from scratch in the backyard. No grass, no sprinklers, tiny patio, and no fence. The work has only begun, but in July we were able to spend a lot of time getting the fence put up and the rest of the yard planned out. We also put apoxy on the garage floor, went camping, and went to Tacoma.

Jordan and Keith Tiegs came over to help us level out our yard. This would have been a terrible job, but these boys and their tractor were able to get it done in no time.

This is our view of the fireworks from our master bedroom. We not only get to see them on the 4th of July, but also when they do them after the Dust Devils baseball games. Cooper loves this! This was so awesome this year because Cooper was super excited to watch the fireworks, but going with a 4 month old baby wasn't something that we wanted to do. We were able to see the fireworks from our bedroom with Carter sound asleep in his crib. And it was really nice not having to deal with traffic and crowds.

Our garage floor before we put the apoxy on.

Another "before" picture.

David and my Dad using the auger to dig the holes for the fence posts.

I even gave it a try... until we hit a rock and it tried to rip my arms off. Then I quit and let the men handle it.

Our front porch getting some decor.
My Mom did the flower pots and we bought the bench with a gift card from my Grandparents.

My Dad and I putting in fence posts.

This was a little furry friend that I saw when I was walking to class at my school.

My concrete crew helping with the fence.

There isn't much I can help with when Carter is awake, but I tried to get in on the action when I could.

The fence starting to go up.
What our house looked like before the fence was up.

A little bit more of the fence done.

Yay! We have a fence!

David and Carter napping again.

These boys are so cute together!

Moments like these make me smile

Cooper asked if he could feed the fish. I said "No" and then looked over to see this.

Cooper's new shark helmet from his Great-Grandparents. He LOVES it!

Carter is such a happy baby! And that other little one is Khloe (my friend Ashley's baby girl) that I babysit a few times a week.

Cooper falls asleep in the most random places.

Sleeping on the ottoman.

He fell off the ottoman, but stayed asleep like this for a long time.

The Grand Coulee Dam. We went and watched the laser light show there while we were camping at Lake Roosevelt.

Cooper went on his first ride on the tube behind my parent's boat and he loved it!

Carter needed a haircut! He and Cooper both had longer hair down the middle and less on the sides. So then they end up with a not-so-fashionable comb-over.  It needed to go.

A little better. We ended up cutting more off that evening.

Working on the fence.

Such a cutie!

David has this same picture with Cooper. I couldn't find it tonight, but I will keep trying and post it when I find it.

David's new work bench.

The beautiful view of the hay behind our house is gone! They cut it down and then burned the field. Cooper LOVED watching them cut it down with the big combines.

On our way to Tacoma, we stopped in Granger so I could feed Carter. Granger has dinosaurs all over the place and Cooper really enjoyed getting to play on them.
