And just like that, we are into 2011! I'm always amazed at how fast the time flies by.
We had a really good Christmas. David and I were both home a lot over the 2 week winter break and we were able to get a lot of stuff done and spend a lot of quality family time together. It was nice to slow down and not be so rush-rushed for a couple weeks.
A couple days before Christmas, we went to see Prancer and Dancer at Beaver Bark. Cooper, Elizabeth, and Becca loved seeing Santa's reindeer. Cooper wasn't scared of them at all and really liked feeding them. He scared me every time he stuck his head through the fence next to those antlers though!
On Christmas Eve, the kiddos all got to open a couple presents. It's been a tradition to get new jammies Christmas Eve, but they each also got new blankets (made by yours truly) and a book.
They were so excited for Santa to come!
This is what 31 weeks pregnant looks like:
That is a huge belly!

That is how Cooper eats his food. He doesn't bite next to a previous bite. It's always on the opposite side. Crazy kid!
The day after Christmas wasn't a great day for us. We were getting ready to head out to get Cooper some soccer gear when I took a bad tumble, head over heals, all the way down our stairs. I landed on my head at the bottom and we quickly went to the ER to make sure baby and I were okay. I was banged up and bruised, but for the most part I wasn't in bad shape at all for the fall I just taken. They hooked me up to monitors to check on baby Carter and moved me to the birthing center after I had 4 contractions in 30 minutes. They also noticed I was leaking something, but after running a test they determined that it wasn't amniotic fluid. After 4 hours of monitoring, they released me with limited activity orders. They said I would feel like I fell down a flight of stairs the next day and that my neck and back would hurt pretty bad. I woke up feeling pretty good and my neck and back never did hurt, thank goodness!
Later that same week, my Dad and David carpeted the stairs. We had been talking about doing it for a really long time and just didn't have the time or motivation to actually get it done.
Christmas break = free time.
Me falling = motivation!
The stairs look so nice and they are definitely softer to fall on.

We were wild and crazy party animals on New Years this year. Being pregnant and having a toddler made our plans of going to my parent's house and watching the ball drop in New York at 9:00 sound really nice. Cooper loved counting down and shouting "Happy New Year!" and then he ran around and gave us all kisses and hugs. We were in bed by 10:30! Now that's my kind of New Years!
Welcome 2011! We are so excited for all that this new year will bring
